Silent Auction Fundraiser
Dec. 3 (8am) - Dec. 12 (11:59pm)
The UWEC Equestrian Team is hosting an online silent auction in order to raise funds for team expenses. We are a relatively small team and the budget for our collegiate sports club is extremely limited. Entry fees, hotels, and travel expenses add up quickly for our team members. All funds raised during this event will help support our team members in their competition travels. Checkout goods and services donated by local businesses, as well as friends & family of the UWEC Equestrian Team using the link below.

You DO NOT need your own horse to be a member of the UWEC Equestrian Team!
One of the biggest misconceptions about our team is that we require you to bring a horse of your own to school with you, which is not the case. We practice at a private facility and show at other universities where horses are provided for you. This mode of showing exposes you to a wide variety of horses, teaching you to be a more adaptable rider and allowing you to display YOUR horsemanship/equitation abilities.
The UWEC Equestrian Show Team competes through the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) in Hunt Seat Equitation and Western Horsemanship classes as well as Jumping and Reining. We are part of Zone 7 Region 3 competing against other Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana and Canadian colleges.
Come check us out at one of our shows this season! Below is a list of all of our 2017-2018 shows and their locations.

"The [Intercollegiate Horse Shows] Association was founded on the principle that any college student should be able to participate in horse shows, regardless of their financial status or riding level. The IHSA attempts to eliminate the expenses of students owning horses and allows more students to compete. Students ride horses that are furnished by the host college and chosen by drawing lots. The use of personal tack is not allowed and schooling is not permitted. The theory behind this structure is to equalize variables of the competition and test the horsemanship of the contestants. Classes range from walk/trot for first year riding students, to the Open Division for the more experienced riders." -IHSA Inc
